hey everyone, i'm doing some investigative reseach and diagnosing for my buddy. He has had repetitive and ongoing issues with his 02/03/04 NA Automatic Xterra.

Specifically, his Service ENgine soon light comes on every hundred miles or so. He has had it to A nissan dealership at least 5-6 times, and an independent mechanic twice. They've replaced both MAF and 02 sensors, each time, saying the units were bad. But they never give him any reasoning on why these sensors are going bad. And as we all know, that shouldn't just happen.

I've done some research online, and found that this seems to be a VERY common theme with this year-range of Xterras. LOTS of people have documented the exact same issue---but no one really seems to have a cause or a fix for it.

I'm trying to help him figure it out, so we can go to the dealership and say "You're busted, because.....blah blah"

The only thing is, its a company car, so despite that i've urged him to call 1800MyLemon, he seems averse to it, since i guess he wouldn't get any of the settlement or judgement anyway.

Regardless, i'm just checking to see if anyone else, or perhaps someone you know, has had any similar issues with their Xterra or other Nissan Vehicle.
