A guy on NASIOC PMd me and said I should go to some dealer in New Hampshire for my car. Said they do like $1k below invoice or some crap. I don't think he realizes that's like 7 hours from me.

Yeah, I've seen that thread before, they have great deals.

*sigh*

Dealer just called me back. Apparently they do not have dealer pricing/invoice pricing on the WRX yet for 2011. So I'm basically dead in the water until any of that is available to them. They won't appraise my car, they won't preapprove me, nothing.

He said their rep doesn't expect to have pricing until about August... of course Sunday is August, but who knows when it'll actually be.

It is kind of understandable without a final price, but I'm confused as to why people on NASIOC are posting order sheets for WRX and STI and I can't get anything out of this place.

Grr.

EDIT: I do see on the "order" thread that other people are saying their dealers don't have invoice pricing yet either. So my dealer may not be that slow, they're just less apt to do anything without all of the specifics.

I think they do the order, take some money to lock in the order, then do all the financing stuff once they get the car in. When I was about to order mine, they used the in-stock WRX as a pricing example to give me an idea on pricing. They didn't do anything at all with the banks until I said that I wanted to actually place the order/take the red one.

That's kind of what I was expecting to happen - give them a few hundred $$ and get a ballpark number on price and a preapproval through their bank.

But nope.

Oh well. More time to get my car closer to stock I guess and save for down payment.

BTW: For anyone else reading this, I have started a "part out" thread. It will be kind of limited, but stuff is ready to go already!

So now that you're obviously looking at things to do, what do you have planed for the Rex? Rally Armor is an obvious must, and I highly suggest doing an STI projector swap, if you can get your hands on a set of STI projectors, easily the best mod I've done to any vehicle I've owned.

Ya, RA for sure. Probably will be the first thing I buy. May contact them first to see if they will change for the 2011 with the slightly different body though. Maybe I can test fit for them or something and get a discount.

Um... been looking into projectors and such. Have been considering lightwerkz too. Just not sure yet.

Quite frankly I don't have too many plans for it... will be keeping it mostly stock - especially while I get used to such a different car. Maybe a different exhaust for a nice deep tone - but has to be stock legal for autox since I'm going to run D Stock for a while.

Probably just do stupid little things based on what I can afford. Shift ****, tint maybe, something with the tails, etc.

Don't bother sending them in to Lightwerkz, it's stupid expensive. They quoted me $1200 for the full job, I did it myself for just under $400. If you do STI projectors, it's pathetically easy to install. Since it's a direct swap, you don't have to worry about mounting them or anything, it's just remove WRX projector and install STI projector.

It's not so bad once they're in the oven. Just set it to 225 and use a screw driver to slowly pry the lens off.

We'll see. I'll be reading through your thread a bit more as I get closer to having the actual car...

Oh and the RA, they'll probably just re-package the STI ones as '11 WRX. I know the 08-10 WRX and STI RA aren't the same.

Another simple thing to do to make the seats a whole lot better, unzip the back of the seat and remove the metal cage like thingy. It'll allow you to sink into the seat more and make the kidney bolsters feel tighter. Took me all of 5 minutes to do and haven't even thought about putting them back in.

Ya, I remember you mentioned something about the seats. I'll have to check that out when I get it. Obviously you know what it's like to go from some Corbeaus to anything else... so ya. I'm feeling quite strange on OEM seats in just the last 16 hours or so.

You won't get used to it. Once you get used to having your kidneys being squeezed everytime you sit down, the tC seats will always feel like you're sitting on a 2x4.

Ya, I feel like I'm sitting on a bench seat in a pickup truck or something.

Ha... I sit at a desk all day - waiting for project work to come my way (in IT). It is in the pipeline though... I will soon not have this much free time. Hopefully.
