Default Time to get scurred of coblats.....

Adding turbocharging to the already potent Supercharged 2.0 allows the best of both worlds: outstanding throttle response and low-end power coupled with breathtaking top end! Our Ecotec turbo experts are pulling out all the stops on this amazing breakthrough.

Turbosystem for SS Supercharged:

For those serious types looking for ultimate turbo power, we are offering a complete turbosystem that includes one of our StreetRace sheetmetal intakes. The StreetRace intake manifold is designed to replace the stock supercharger/intake manifold assembly, converting the car to all-turbo power. Removing the supercharger altogether simplifies the engine compartment, removes weight, and enables turbocharged power figures that aren’t limited by the supercharger’s maximum airflow.

You'd think those with a cobalt that wants to go with just all turbo wouldnt even buy the ss supercharged to begin with, i mean, they're just wasting money on the s/c and then having it removed.

Its twincharge so they get to keep the supercharger AND run a turbo charger. The super is the big thing on the front of the engine.

if you read it says there will be an optoinal full turbo option. that will remove the s/c OR you can do the twin charging.

The SS/SC has more to it than just a blower. Factor in forged connecting rods, forged destroked/wonderfully balanced crank, low compression pistons and a limited slip and it makes for a great car to turbo. None of those options come with the NA models except the 2.4 which has forged rods.

It's still a cobalt economy car. I looked at it when I was out car shopping, and while it's one fast little ride, I wasn't going to settle on a built-up chevette.

Yeah but Chevy is doing something that TRD isn't doing. Chevy has upgrades parts for the S/C. you can up grade the Cobalt S/C to stage 1 or stage 2 if you want. stage 1 is $500 and stage 2 $750. I wish TRD will catch on.

Yeah, that's fine and all... but it's still a little compact economy car.

Same with the Neon SRT4. It's still a farkin' neon. Totally lacking in creature comforts. And that's just not my thing.

I agree with you on this. I think Dodge messed up by taking a crappy (yet affordable) car and making it fast. The neon to the SRT-4. They should have renamed it and changed it. I love what the SRT-4 can do, but I would never ever buy one for the simple fact that its a dodge neon with a horrible record.

The cobalt is the sameway, they took a cobalt ls (or whatever it is) and made it a fast car. It should be its own lineup. It would sell much better.
I would still not buy either car, because in the end they are a dodge and a chevy and thats not my cup of tea.
