Default My xB autox video: cool stuff

Thanks to my friend who made this video for NNJR SCCA Autocross for July 8, 2006. My box is in the video of course. Check it out till the end. I think I placed 3rd from my class of 16 entries beating out a 350z and numerous RSX as well as a Mustang

You ran STS? That's what I ran a few weeks ago. I have another event coming up this weekend and was thinking about running a different class, as the STS around here is dominated by fourth-gen Civics. However, I'm not sure which class I'd run; perhaps F with an SM index or something.

STS is always competitive. We modded xB is at a very disadvantage. If your car still stock, you can run stock class. You're allowed to get aftermarket shocks and tires I believe.

niiiiice. i'm thinking about trying out an autoX or track day event. what is your setup when you run ? no different from your daily setup or do you have dedicated race parts that you swap on ?

Evosky:

I have Koni's all around with Tein Htech, I ran softest in the front and 1 full turn in the rear for autox. Tire pressure is at 41 front and rear and adjust accordingly depending on how the car handles that day. When daily driven, I have half turn in front and 1 full turn in rear.

The song is from the Initial D anime soundtrack, forgot the name.

ah cool. i still have the stock suspension setup (only have hotchkis front strut and cusco under brace). however, i need the stock clearance for cargo and traveling. hmmm ... it's killing me cuz i want to do suspension mods .

i'm guessing that the stock springs are not very good at handling autoX situations . probably would need a rear sway as well .

also, are those your street tires ? or dedicated race rubber ?

It's my daily driver so it's street tire. I drive this car everyday as well as autox few times a year.

Interesting how when i autocross and used to post about it i got sh_t for it all the time, specifically from tc owners with huge egos..but when someone else places 3rd you praise.

Have fun and keep going. You need some more suspension and power mods though, still a little sluggish in the straigher shots and still have quite a bit of body roll, but did good.

Possible of rolling over on any car if you drove aggressive enough. My friend told me there are a couple of incidents where car flips because they over drove the car but not necessarily an xB.
