And you rant is going to fall on deaf ears by the way. Street racing has been around since the time Autosports was ever created.

Just because it falls on deaf ears doesn't make it any less relevant. If I make just one person go "you know, maybe I shouldn't endanger the lives of myself and everyone around me," then it's worth it. And murder has been around since the time people were created, but that doesn't make it any better. There's a reason petty street racing transitioned into proper autosports.
Ok, first off, the only other person on the road with me is the other guy. Second, where I go, there are no side streets for cross traffic. I don't street race as much as I use to. I'm preparing the car to enter Redline Time Attack next season. Only every once in a while do I street race now. And who you calling Kid? I'm older than you. 105mph....maybe if I was in an xB. We shut down usually around 120mph.
Your rant is fine and all, and you probably wouldn't even be saying it if you had a somewhat fast car. But it's cool, have a cookie. Your probably one of those people who wants to cure world hunger.
Anyone that is "Really" serious about racing does transition into autosports. I have already had my first drift event, and will enter more until I can obtain a Nopi or Formula D license. And Time Attack is a season away for me. Got to get some things setup first in order to be competitive.

And how can you possibly try and use the "well I do x so y is okay!" excuse about this subject? That's like saying it's okay to go to Klan rallies because you're a cop. I don't care if you're in the SPEED World Challenge; it doesn't make the fact that you tear down public streets any less reckless or stupid. In fact, it makes you even more of an idiot, because you of all people would know you get much more of a safer and more rewarding challenge racing at the track.
And really, it almost seems like you throw that "you would see my point if you had a fast car" bit in like you actually have a fast car, when all you've apparently been judging it on is the trash you've been racing on the streets. I'm sure my car would look fast and awesome and pull chicks if all I raced were ricer Civic's and RSX-S's with idiots behind the wheel. You really should pop on down to the track sometime and race against some actually fast cars with some actually talented drivers. It might instill some much needed humility in you and show you how boring street racing can be.
(Oh, and drifting != racing. Drifting is a competition. Autosport, sure, but it's not a race. I hate when people confuse the two.)
What a negative nancy. I know alot of people who street race and all of them do it as safely as possible. I know theres no "safe" street racing but I myself and people I know do it when theres no cars around, usually late, on roads with minimal to no crossroads.
Theres responsible street racing and theres _______s who race in a 40 zone in traffic weaving around. Don't make it seem like everyone who peddles there car is a murderer.
Anywho rhythmnsmoke thanks for the tip. I'll look around some more.

street racing is street racing, its illegal and plain dumb, so what if its on a street that empty or not, ____ can happen, I have seen it happen first hand, someone can lose conrtrol, crash, etc, etc, and plow into a crowd of people or just a wall, pole, etc and hurt if not kill them selves and other people, they make tracks for a reason.

You still talking dude?

PS......YOU FAIL when you ASSume you know me. You don't know anything about me, about my car, about where I live, or what I do. I am not an arrogant person but it's people like you that THINK they are schooling me, when I have more knowledge about racing on the back of my hand then you do in your entire brain.
Stop being a hater already.

That does not mean that none of what you just said won't happen if you were not racing. Come to TN. Truckers don't call Nahsville.....Crashville for no reason. People here SUCK at driving.
Well obviously thier is risk also involved in just driving down the road, believe me I know, I live in Los Angelos for cryin outloud, I have been in many accidents (rear ended 3 times and tboned once) and was nearly killed plenty of times on my motorcycle because people dont know how to drive.
But street racing is more of a risk then just driving to and from work everyday.
Coming from me, someone who used to be into the street race scene, has been pulled over countless times for speeding has 5 points on his record including 2 for being popped for street racing I can say I have been there and done that, I finally wised up 2 years ago and decided it wasnt a smart thing to do and, IMO I relaized it too late but at least I learned my lesson before I hurt someone for my stupidity.
So no I'm not perfect, I roll stop signs here and there, speed occasionally but never more then 5-10mph over the speed limit anymore, try to use my blinkers all the time and be a courtious driver. I learned my lesson and I "preach" so that hopefully people will learn from my mistakes instead of making thier own.

Depend on who you talk to.
Kinda like comparing......
Street racing on a desolate highway road that only has two lanes in one direction at 2am in the morning with you and one other car and maybe a buddy following behind. And Racing to about 120mph.
OR......
On the streets of NY City during rush hour (which is practically ALL day), and dealing with people who are forever in a hurry to get somewhere....Especially the cab drivers.
I don't know about you, but I'll take my chances at 120mph on a road with one other car....
PS....And that is fine and I understand where you are coming from. It's not about what you say, it's how you say it. You came off like you were superior than anyone else. So, it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. So, no hard feelings.

i dont see how you saw it that way but ok, so no hard feelings at all.
Regardless you're still gambling with your life where ever it may be that you do it, not a risk I am willing to take anymore or think anyone else should.
It sucks watching a car plow into a friend critically injuring him and killing 2 others and being able to do nothing but watch...

You are not going to save the world...Mary Poppins. Let me guess you drive 5 miles UNDER the speed limit, have never accelerated down a road in your car, never made a lane change without your blinker, and you come to complete stops at EVERY stop sign. Get over yourself already, and stop pretending you are perfect.
You don't street race, fine. Do you do ANY racing legal or illegal at all? If you don't then you have no room to talk period.
The "trash" I've been racing on the streets.....
I will be sure to let the locals with modified Evo's, STI's, Procharged Stangs, Camaro's on spray, etc....that some hater on SL thinks their cars are trash. And yes, I beat them in my tC. My tC isn't fast by my standards, but it's faster than an Evo, STI, S2k. I have a 350z also, and my tC puts about a bus length on it. BUT like I said, it's not yet fast by my standards. It's good for 12's right now. But when it makes it to mid 11's then I will consider it quick (not fast, as fast I think of 200mph). So, it will be quick.

All that being said, where have I ever suggested that I'm better than anyone else for NOT street racing? Please, point it out for me. Go over any post I've ever made with a fine tooth comb. Sure, I've said that street racing is reckless, dangerous, and irresponsible... and that compared to track racing it's unfufilling and boring... but where have I ever said that I'm better than anyone? I do believe, in your own words, "YOU FAIL when you ASSume". And speaking of "ASSume", kudos for that wacky strawman about me obeying every rule of the road like actually following traffic laws is a bad thing. Yes, I stop at every stop sign and use my blinker whenever I turn or change lanes. Oh man, I must be one of those dudes with pocket protectors and pants around my chest.
Alright, I was at least trying to be civil for the whole discussion, but man... are you really dense enough to question if I do any racing at all when I've got the numbers and classes for both of my cars and a link to the SCCA region I race with in my signature? Anyway...
Sure, feel free to tell them that I think their cars are trash; I really don't care. Tell them that I think their driving is trash, too, for hilarity's sake. Just a personal opinion, but I find drag racing requires little more skill than a well-timed shift, keeping your steering wheel locked, and making a menacing face... which I think is pretty boring. I genuinely am interested in how you do at the Time Attack, not having any road course experience or track experience. The less cynical side of me says it's absolutely crucial for you to go to a road racing school in your region before you go to the event if you hope to have any fun or any respectable time. You'll spend more time driving and less time trying to find lines.
You're right, I know absolutely nothing about you except you have a car, it has four wheels, more piping than I have in your engine bay, and you street race it; I haven't made any personal attacks or assumptions against you. I don't know why you're getting so defensive.
