tc vs rsx (auto)

how would a auto tC do vs. a ep3?

I hope you like paying for car insurance, because I sure as hell don't like you statistically raising my premiums.
ROFL . Here is a prime example of some dumba** in this forum. Why reply to the thread? You are just repeating what someone else said. And making yourself look like a
Ya he wants to race his auto. giiiitttttt over it.
BTW... you said: "I wouldn't expect anything more from a seventeen year old kid." I'm pretty sure when you were 17, that would be ur same response so let's not bring that up....you don't even have ur current age posted. Once again I would like to bring attention to
There are too many haters in this forum.
He just asked a simple question: "anyone think i have a chance against him or have tips so i will?".
He doesn't need a lecture on off-topic things that you may be concerned about (ie. illegal street racing) or your stupid personal opinions (ie. "it's stupid to race autos")
i think you'll win. but there have been cases of stock auto rsx's beating auto tc's. auto tc's have no chance against the EP3. fastest documented N/A base auto rsx is 15.5. i/rh/e/hondata
whats wrong with racing autos now?
PS. do it at the track plz.

racing autos is lame, all you have to go is put the car in drive and stomp the gas pedal as soon as you hear go. i can train a monkey to do that. launching a manual takes more skill as well as proper shifting. it requires alittle something i like to call coordination.
it is a waste of time to race stock automatic cars because your resuls will be exactely the same as whatever some magazine posts in their reviews of the car. so why waste the gas?
just open up a car an driver and say "rsx auto 1/4: 15.8, scion tc auto 1/4: 16.X" yeah, the rsx would be faster. why waste the gas on the first hand experience?

when it comes to drag racing, its not all about shifting skills, its about getting the best times whatever means necessary, whether it be an auto trans if it gets you to that goal. ever seen 3spd auto dragsters? skill? pft...screw that, i'll take lower 1/4mi times over the skill-factor.
and stock base autos usually run 16's. i dont know how C&D pulled 15's stock. 15's are usually done by base manuals.
really? drag cars with autos? i was not aware of that!
if you actually spent the money and built the car then yeah, take pride in your accomplishment. it does take skill to make a all those parts work together properly, but not much to race it. but you are not proving a damn thing racing a stock automatic car, the outcome will be the same over and over and over and over and over. in general 4 bangors are slow with exceptions, but hey, there have been plenty of slow v8's from the days gone past of pollution controls and gas crisis.
and while putting autos in a dragster might result in faster 1/4 mile times with you have outrageous horsepower numbers, but in this case, they are considerably slower than manuals.

yeah, if you have the skills to build a super fast automatic tranny car, then that in itself is an accomplishment. you aren't showing off your driving skills so much as you are showing your mechanical skills and knowledge building such a car. but to race stock auto cars shows what? you have the credit rating to afford the car and know how to put it in d and push the pedal on the word go?
^then wats the difference between racing stock manuals v4's? its pointless b/c its still "slow". racing a manual shows what? your mechanical skills and knowledge doesnt show anything when you lose. even worse when u lose to a stock auto.
we're not even tlaking about manuals in the first place in this thread. its clearly auto vs. auto. and for what? to see which is the faster auto.
get over yourself. even stock autos w/ DSG/SMG trannies will outperform manual counterparts all day. even the stock GM Hydramatic (found in Colbalts and other domestics) auto tranny is being retrofitted into high HP imports for tracking.

my point is that if the results have already been widely published, what are you going to prove doing it yourselves? drag racing a stock auto will be nearly the same results each time.
because the car is an auto, that means anybody can drag race it and get the same results each time, whether it be a lead footed teenager with a fresh drivers license, a season professional, or a granny, because all you have to do is punch the pedal and keep the car straight as soon as the light turns green.
now yes, machines are great and they outperform humans at nearly everything we can build them to do, shifing is one of them, so is abs, and assembly line manufactuering.
my point is that if i drag race, i prefer manuals with similar powered cars so that the winner is determined by his driving skill, not his ability to hit a pedal. i'm all for taking pride in ones ride, but why not do something where you can have some credit in the victory too?

the published results are already not accurate. as i have stated earlier. i lost to my bro's tc auto when i was stock, and he was stock. But my friend in kansas beat a stock auto tc in his stock base auto.
Dont bench race and base all your facts squarely on magazine reviews. Its like seeing the manual S/C'd tC put down high 15's in the 1/4mi done by C&D, when obviously ppl have done a lot better. not every car is the same, and results will differ in every case. Base automatics will NOT run 15.8 in the 1/4mi stock. that is the number of a base MANUAL.
believe me, you will not get the same results each time you drag with the auto, or any car for that matter. in one run, i ran a 14.3. next run, 13.7. hmm....i'd think thats a pretty big difference.
if you prefer the manual, fine, nothing wrong with that, its fun. but dont come onto a automatic vs. automatic thread and bash someone for racing their auto, cuz in turn, ppl can bash you the same way. racing an auto is safer and less margin for error. sometimes the safe route is the most preferred route. (but again, i do not condone racing in the street)
yes, granted that races are also determined by skill, hence a professional driving school is one of the best things you can do with your money. And yes, they do use automatic cars in their courses too.
