Personally, I've had no problems using ebay as long as you take the time to make sure the seller has a good reputation and you have to correctly read the product description/ask questions when needed because some ads are very tricky.

As far as paypal, I have yet to have a problem with it and I have been using it for over 4 years. However, I have known plenty of people that have run into problems with it. Using paypal is just as risky as ebay is.

Yeah, I just combed through several hundred parts on ebay doing a "scion" search. Damn, are there a lot of crap parts out there.

Aside from having packages stolen from my doorstep and one bidder not ponying up the cashola, I've never had problems with ebay or PayPal. I've been on ebay since '97 and PayPal since they had it.

Just be very careful of the parts. Like anything, deals that look too good to be true usually are. There's a TON of Chinese knockoffs and cheap repro parts sitting on ebay right now. Easily 50% of all those auctions I read today were for CRAP.

Remember that nearly every reputable Scion parts retailer (both dealer and aftermarket) is here on Scion Life. If it's one of their auctions, cool, go for it. If not, probably shy away IMO.

Like anything else on eBay check the sellers feedback.
If a seller has good feedback it's a given you shouldn't have problems.
Just remember you get what you pay for, allot of junk out there.
I haven't had problems buying off eBay.

I've had excellent luck on Ebay. Specifically I bought these items from these people and would buy from again:
