The wiring was a pain for me because the aftermarket projectors I have were made to hook up to the stock harness. Op, I checked my driving lights, they use h3 bulbs. Looks like from the dead bulbs the filiment is intact, however the base of the bulb and metal part was a purplish, bluishing discolor vs the new bulb. I suspect heat destroyed it. I know hid bulbs get hot too, but does heat or can heat cause the same damage?
Second, can the ballast be out in the weather? My previous cars they have been under the hood, but the length of bulb wires means they would need to be mounted in the bumper vs under the hood.

Yes, the ballast can be out in the weather. I had my ballast mounted in the bumper for 2.5 years and still have yet to have a problem.

DAM IT!!!!! You know I need 2 h3c sets, then 2 35 and 2 50 watt ballasts.
