Default 50K service recommendations...

Hi Everyone,

I've got a 2008 xB and it just hit 50K miles. I called the dealer to see what they were going to hit me with and they said a transmission flush ($255) and a cooling system flush ($145). This seems like a lot to me. Do you guys think these are necessary? Can I get by and do them myself somehow? I'd be inclined to drain fluids (if there is a way to) and replace them with new fluid...

Thanks,

Alan

Recommended maintenance is at 60k, not 50k.

Yes, you should get that done.

No you should not pay that amount.
