The ebay one you linked looks safe to me because it's an ebay store and he has tons of good feedback. Also he's been a member since 2001. I'd go with that unless the Summit Racing store one turns out to be cheaper because of shipping or somthing.

So I e-mailed the guy that I bought the product from (the same guy that had his acct suspended) and basically told him that i'd appreciate some information on what happened. I told him that it is past the point that I can file a claim for my money back and that I already left him positive feedback, so just to be honest with me so that my car doesn't get damaged. He responded today with the following:

Redline company is banning our sales of Redline products in eBay because we offer low prices. All of our Redline products are genuine.

Do you guys think that is trustworthy, or still swap it out? I mean, can redline ban the sales of their product on ebay for that reason or does that not sound like fraud? Honestly, I don't really know what constitutes fraud!

depends if red allows just anybody to sell the product .... email them and ask if you have to be a member of some type of group to sell their product or can you sell it online freely.

Actually I already emailed redline (waiting for a response) and I told that what is going on. I asked them if they had any part in what happened and if they had any info...when they write back, I will be sure to ask them that question - thanks!

So I emailed redline and this is what they wrote me back:

Don't worry, that fluid is fine.

We have a sales policy against eBay and online auctions. Many over there are using our text and photos without authority, as well as advertising the product so far under suggested retail ($8.95, which is low for gear oil
anyway...) that it harms the product. Many other auctions came down in the last week and those that sell to these ebay seller on a wholesale level are just now hearing from us. Bad deal all around. It takes time to stop it all and they were one of the first and worst. We don't control the price,
just the advertised price. Anything else is illegal.

You can buy at prices that are very low from Jegs, Summit, and other retailers just as well. After shipping, you'll probably get it cheaper than what you've likely paid.

Hope that helps and thanks for supporting our products.

Looks like it's alright afterall!
