How is RainX?

Only issue with the roof is that it appears rain sits longer and takes a whiel to evaporate (I'm sure it's something to do with the rain collecting in bigger dropplets or something.
So if you park, it rains, you come back and it's not raining and you pop the roof, you'll get a waterfall effect as it tilts.
Did it once, it really impressed my wife....who was in the passenger seat. ;(
The rockblocker $15 for 1 application is crazy. My bottle cots maybe 2 or 3 bucks and I've used maybe half over the last 6 months.
Just an oh, by the way, whether you use Rain-X or a similar product, or not, it's a good idea to replace your wiper refills once a year. The rubber does degrade (every run a towel down the edge of the wiper when you're cleaning your windshield?) and you'll get better cleaning from the newer blades.

(and I might be imagining this, but it seemed to make bird poo easier to clean off too...)

On the tC it made a world of difference on the left side of windshield by the A-pillar I used to get a HUGE quantity of water just built up on the window any time I was on a road that curved to the left and between that and the wide a-pillar it was hard to see a dang thing. Put on rain-x and it was almost as good as having it not even rain.

I need to re-apply mine and wash my poor filthy tC... but it has been snowing all night and day so it is kinda pointless right now
yeah, the anitfog seems to be hype.....the fog clear gel at properautocare.com seems to be pretty sweet, but i haven't tried it out.

a couple of years ago, i had terrible trouble with fog and ice on the inside of my windsheild, combine that with a low output heater and i would be reduced to scraping the inside of the glass...i found out that my floormats were the culprits, they would hold alot of water and with would evaporate and then accumulate on the inside of the windsheild

Antifog does NOT work. It messed up my windshield and i had to wash them all again on the inside several times.
Outside, the RainX works like a charm. I gotta redo all my windows.

Rain-X and Restore were the only two products I swore by while working at Autozone.
A couple came in and had to go to Tucson (70 miles away) and their wipers stopped working. I gave them a free application of Rain-X and sent them on their way. Next day they came and thanked me. Said it worked GREAT!! They also bought a bottle for use later.
When we get our monsoon rains people pull over cuz it's raining so hard. I drive by them without even turning on my wipers! Rain just slides off. GREAT stuff!

From someone who is already an appreciative user of Rain-X ....
I put the first application of Rain-X on Mrs. Scion's xB last night. I'm driving it today, and we had rain of varying intensity while I was on the way to work.
I think that it's even better on the xB than on my Maxima! I was hardly using the wipers, even when it was misty and I was driving at slower speeds. In the Max, I'd have had to use the wipers, at least on intermittant.
Helps out a LOT on the back window, too.
I'd stopped using Rain-X on her previous car, the Toyota Previa, since the windshield was just slightly smaller than a football field, and I felt like I'd run a marathon after I finished.
I think Rain-X on the xB is going to be a regular process.
I think I mentioned earlier in this thread that I spoke with the makers of Rain-X, who said that one of the most common mistakes in application was applying too much. That makes it more difficult to buff out, and more prone to streaks, haze and the starring effect at night. It doesn't take much.
