OIL FILTER ,WRENCH SIZE FOR XB
While I was changing my oil today which was pretty easy, right up to getting the oil fillter off. When I picked up a fillter at the dealer the other day I forgot to get a oil filter wrech for the new filter, know problem, jumped on my motorcycle took the new filter down to the local parts store matched up a wrench, know problem, untill trying to remove filter from car, the wrench just skips around the filter,AGGGGHHHHHH. I think the factory installed this filter without lubing the seal. So my question is does toyota make a specific wrench for there filter? I am also wondering if the first filter when the car comes from Japan is different, what are you guys using to change your filter. I had to leave the filtter on for now, good thing it only has 2300 miles on it.
Sincerely,
Erik

Just stick a screwdriver into the filter from the side and work it off. Its a bit messy but it will take it off. Or just wrap a towel around the filter wrench and then put it on the filter. Factory filters are put on pretty tight for obvious reasons.
