Default Primer for touch up???

Ok I have a few chips on my tc and I am serious about getting them fixed the right way!

From doing research and searching the forums it seems that I need to apply primer to the deep chips before painting them in.

Is there any specific primer that I should use for the scion paint?
Can I just buy a rattle can from the autoparts store and use the primer from there?

Well usually since the metal has already been treated with electroplating I wouldn't think a couple of chips would need primer.. Plus if the chips are as big as a dime then i would suggest a body shop..

If they are just small chips, regular touch up paint should be ok.. I think some body shop people on here could give you more info. But that's what I'd do.. I've never had a problem touching up spots with the regular touch up paint on any of the cars I've had... hope that helps

yes it did help, as usuall mich! I never factored the eleectroplating into the equation and now that u mention it, i guess the touch up paint is designed to adhere to such surfaces any way! thanks a ton!
