Default Sudden severe valvetrain noise

As of tonight at one point when i was stopped I slightly revved my motor and realized that somehow just from 80mph highway driving earlier had messed something up. there is now alot of pretty weird valvetrain noise and vibrations. how do I adjust my valve clearance?

you can not adjust your valve clearance.

we have cam on top of solid lifters.
there are no followers or rockers to adjust.

if you need an adjustment...
the cams must be removed and a thicker/thinner lifter inserted...
no 10 min backyard project...

Yeah i've learned this. what i'm wondering is how in hell it happened? a dealer fix is about 1000.00 it should be warranteed but with my luck they'll try and void me. so i gotta remove header , ground kit and swap out my painted valve cover. they'll remove all my krinkle coat off that nice lil perdy one. screw that plastic one , lol. argh i am soo ____ed. ruined lifters at 14,300 miles , thats great craftsmanship there toyota.

Your header might not void the engine warranty. As a "rule of thumb" only downstream parts are voided from warranty (from your header work back to your cat, and muffler). At least this is what my dealer explained to me (they were pretty interested in seeing/hearing an aftermarket full exhaust on a tC). As far as the painted valve cover, if you did not modify anything (or drop a bolt in), and torqued it back to the same specifications, didn't damage the gasket, etc. They shouldnt try to claim it was your fault. As far as the ground kit, that may have to go or any electrical problems you may see in the future will be $$$. You should give a dealer a call (not hte one you are going to and dont tell them who you are) and ask what voids the warranty. Then you will know what things you need to take off before you go. Make sure you remove any evidance of the voiding mods though.

Disclaimer - I have not had to call in a warranty and have no mods so it is best to find out and don't take my word for it ;)

no the valve cover will get ruined by stupid techs who dont care cuz it isnt their car. all of that i know but.... the sight of header and full exhaust will get a stingy service writer to say hmm" modified and messed up valve train must have been racing"

Thats what it sounds like to me!

Can you really say that you were just normally driving your xB, and then your valves went to hell?

When you put headers, ect, ect, ect, on your engine it is assumed that your were driving it hard in my book.

If thats what caused your problem it is going to have to be answered by a toyotech...

driving no harder than any of my friends with xb's with more power and more money to fuel the gas tank. all i know is i've driven other cars much harder with ALOT more miles on the motor and had no problems at all. if these cars cant take mid range rpms with a little push then they shouldnt be on the road.

oh and the addition of header and full exhaust coupled with intake make the car have ( as a guess ) a whopping 120 crank hp.. oh man MUST be racing with such "HUGE" hp gains , lol not.. i'm just trying to keep up with traffic 90% of the time. havning to shift at 4k rpm versus 3k just to keep up with traffic

Hmm, Toyotas are known for their "clicking" sound at idle. I drive my box near the 80 mph mark all of the time, especially going down to SoCal.
