oh, and street racing is stupid.
Street racing or not, driving within a cars limits shouldn't cause failure.

Anyhow, who lost a manual tranny? I've yet to hear about any? Frankly, I'm tired of hearing these posts of people that "heard" someone say something broke. Theres a ton of misinformation on these forums because of posts like this.

I've yet to break my tranny, and if anyone drives hard... it's me.
ask squirrel , his failed on him , i think the biggest problem with manual trans in these cars are the slipping clutches , i know mine slips like a ****. and i've been driving stick my whole life and know how to shift . and drive easily/slowly more than 70% of the time.
yep been driving and racing for 20yrs and I grind sometimes and I never do that

I had an AT XB for a year and 18K miles with no issues. Very smooth.

My mom had an AT drop out of her rental Echo though. I don't know the mileage, age, or how it was driven (rental gives me a clue though), but it did make me raise an eyebrow since the engine tranny was the same as my XB. I was hoping if it did happen, it would happen within the 3 yr warranty.
