We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and they were showing The Poseidon Adventure...

At least it made me pay attention to where the exit doors and lifeboats were located.

Snakes are cold-blooded.

Planes are air conditioned.

Snakes on a plane = leather hoses.

Reality > Movies.

Ah, one of Hollywood's all-time most ridiculous movies!!! The thought of Shaft stuck on a jetliner with agitated venomous reptiles just makes me laugh my @$$ off!!

Unless the air-conditioning is set to be uncomfortably cold for the passengers, it would have minimal effect on most cold-blooded reptiles for quite a while. Yes, the snakes would begin to slow down after a few hours below optimum temps, but not enough to become completely lethargic in little time unless the temps were significantly below the range of their natural environment.
Inside a comfortable pressurized environment, they would have no problem surviving and remaining active. More than likely, they would find a comfortable, warm, secluded place to hide, like in your carry-on luggage!!!
I'd bring my 50+ pound Boa to prove a point, but I doubt the TSA would allow him on board with me. Maybe if I brought him through security, he might eat an inspector or two. ...eh, it's a thought. Come confiscate my luggage, Mr. TSA man!!

I never saw the movie but I know the hype was not worth it. I have zero fear of flying and having snakes take over the plane.

I used to sail historic boats and anytime we'd sail through a squall I insisted on playing "The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot. Some of the crew saw the hilarity and the rest thought I was an idiot...
