I took a video of my gf's first time trying to open up a lobster...i think my gf became a bit traumatized by it though.. hell she was playing with the poor little guys before i cooked them and even gave them names Fred and Earl lol
after all that she ended up not liking it,

every time i go to a restaurant with my wife to eat some lobster or something... first she tells me how bad she feels that they killing all those poor creatures! ( shes a BIIIG animal lover) then she gets the food and you should see her face.. like a kid when she opens her xmas gifts :D and that enjoyment on her face when she eats that poor lobster.. LOL

I like the taste, so does my gf... but the texture totally sucks IMO. I've had expensive professionally prepared lobster and i've had it home cooked, and every time I have it the flavor is there but it's just sort of chewy and disgusting.

I love crab though.

Plus I always feel bad if say going into the grocery store or red lobster and the lobsters are just kicking it all plastered on top of each other in a tiny tank.



Alot as a kid my family would buy a few lobsters and cook them, and my mom would pull the little guys out of the brown paper bag, still kicking, and just toss them into the boiling water. TERRIBLE I SAY.

 

it is chewy, because you cook it too long. I boil my lobster for only 7 minutes

I go out and drop pots for Dungeness crab off a friend's beach. Nothing tastes better than fresh fish/seafood and catching it yourself. This year I want to try clamming and oyster hunting!

I was fishing at Hoodsport last year, and kept stepping on what I though where big rocks, I grabbed one and it was an Oyster the size of a dinner plate! They where everywhere! Unfortunately, they are illegal to take in that area

^that reminds me of the time we steamed some crabs. I was 9 and let it walk around the backyard before it met the "fire". When my mom put it in the steamer it SCREAMED! hahaha, I also heard a Cockroach scream..more like a screech, before my grandpa smooshed it in a paper towel.

Yuck. I can't eat none of that stuff man. Seafood grosses me out to the point where if I'm at a table with someone eating it I'll just have water so I don't puke. I'm cool with the holy trinity, chicken, beef, pork... from the supermarket. The more homogenized, sanitized, and pasteurized, the better.
