Any advice or wisdom from some fellow homeowners? Looks like I'm done modding for a while.. or forever.. what have I gotten myself into?
Welcome fellow homeowner...
You'll love owning your own property cause you can do whatever you want with it and NO ONE can tell you to "stop running" or "turn down the music".
Unfortunately, the modding SLOWS down...I should know, I've had my house for almost a year now and I'm still trying to figure out how to buy my wheels and "upgrade" my sound system in the Box.
Anyways, congrats on your purchase and enjoy it...
P.S. You'll also enjoy the much LARGER tax refunds too...

HA HA--refinanced my house and paid off the box!! Bought my first house for less than an FJ Cruiser. Now houses here avg 500 large. You did the right thing. Just make sure you have a fund for repairs. Furthermore--you can park your tC in your own driveway!!
Congrats..... only thing i can suggest... is if you have a room or 2 or more... that you wanna paint, re-do.... do it one room at a time.... lol... bought my house in '04... in the first 2weeks of owning it took one room down to the studs 2 layers of ugly wall paper, first layer came off.. 2nd took drywall with it.. that room is still just studs/open walls...
finish a room then go onto the next... lol.. other than that.. enjoy
.... oh put a "no soliciting" sign up... i swear some stake out the house to know when you there

Just start modding the house now, they'll actually make you some dough in the long run. Bathrooms and kitchens are the most expensive mods, but they also pay the most. However, if you are going to do those now, only do them for yourself. You'll make the most money on those two mods if you do them as close as possible to putting them on the market. i.e. If you do them now and spend a boatload, and sell in 10 years, you will have a nice kitchen and bath that are 10 years out of date, home buyers see that as an expense they'll have to shell out almost immediatly. If you instead spend near that same amount of money a year before selling, you will have a very updated kitchen and bring in significantly more dough and sell your home faster.

That was me on fathers day--spent the whole day installing a new front entry door on my house. Putting suicide doors on my box would have been easier........
Congratulations!!!! You will never regret the purchase! But, do set aside a fund for repairs, and ask around for reputable repair folks...It's an unspoken rule, homeowners like to brag when they find trustworthy folks....and they like to help their neighbors...
