I hope you mean during the down time. You do NOT want to get caught messing with a phone, MP3 player, or anything else while in the courtroom. I'm sure you know that.

Pay attention to the trial when it's happening. You're determining someone's life for the next few months or years. (Unless it's a civil trial - then it's money)

Hopefully you're paying attention during the actual presentation of evidence at least. I can see being pretty bored during the whole "lawyers speaking gibberish" phase.

I think he is hating the part when you are just sitting around not doing anything in a room full of people, not even knowing if you will be part of the trial or not.

I got selected for the grand jury last year. Soooooo much worse than regular jury duty. The grand jury is a 6-month term. You essentially decide whether or not a case will actually go to court or not. My "co-jurors" were mostly idiots. Trust me, I'll kill myself before I'm ever tried by a jury of my peers, because my peers are complete morons.

Man, I love jury duty. Just got called my second time for the first week of October. The only problem is I will know all the city officials and cops in the courtroom due to growing up with a dad that was a lifetime cop and won't get picked for anything. I'll just get to sit there.

Isn't that why people choose a jury over a judge?
I spill hot coffee (because who would buy cold cup of coffee from McD's?) and I want to sue.
Do I use a Judge who will laugh at me and say "You should have used common sence, Quite trying to blame everyone else for you being a dolt".
or
A Jury who thinks "What does McD's care. They have a bunch of money and it won't hurt them to give some of it to this person. No matter what the story is".

Good point. But luckily for everyone, I'm not the kind of person who feels that McDonald's (or any other huge corporation, for that matter) owes me just because I'm poor. I'm not planning any frivolous lawsuits anytime in my lifetime. Everybody thinks that everybody owes them something. Man, I hate people.

Isn't that the truth! About 5 or 6 months ago I serverd on a jury for federal court. When many of my coworkers heard that it was a civil trial, their first response was, "You have a chance to stick it to the big companies and make some little guy rich!" And of course, they were saying that without knowing a single fact of the case. It's no wonder insurance and everything else costs so much.

Yeah, most people are f**king idiots. I hate "the poor people" and "the little guy" and "the common man". Just another way of saying that someone is stupid, listless and unmotivated. Try making something of yourself, morons. You know, with hard work or something equally unheard of. Lazy sons of b!tches.

what most people don't understand is that the world owes them nothing. if anyone wants to point a finger for anything that has happened in their life all they have to do is look in the mirror. make excuses all you want, everyone has set-backs, but someone that is willful pushes past all that. i speak from experience. i've been hit by a lot of adversity in my life, and i have pushed on in spite of all odds.

you should get as much out of life as you put into it, but that doesn't happen anymore because of stupid people trying to be parasites on society. if you need money, get a job. if you just want more money, get a better job. if you want to be rich, talk to a financial advisor and learn to invest. i have never, nor will i ever want anything i haven't earned. nothing magically appears into existence, which means i would be depriving someone of their hard earned spoils. someone spent time to earn that. and just because they're better at earning/saving than you or me doesn't mean they deserve to be punished or ripped off.
