Default i DO NOT like this idea....

http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com...ves/006632.php

at first i thought they were alive, but then it mentions something about foam latex, either way, it just seems terrible to recreate life in such a way, an utter dependant organism strapped in a package.

opinions?

I dunno, but if the stores around here carry 'em, I'm buying like 10 of 'em. That could be this Christmas' Elmo.

Well, this is purely meant as "art". I doubt these are going to be mass produced or anything, and he says he is selling them for 1200 dollars moving 800 dollars non-moving Interesting, but I don't think I could have one of those things sitting around, especially not if it moved.

$1200? asinine! You know what tho, this could be a worthwhile investment for a 14 y/o that thinks she wants a baby.

hmmm, think a lot of you might be missing the point here. the whole thing is art. the original setup and even when they're placed in a store window is meant to be a display of installation art commenting on what could possibly be reality with ongoing bioengineering. They're that expensive because he's selling you part of his artwork, not because he really expects these things to sell like Cabbage Patch Kids.

This seems like a bunch of bull to me. Plastic and rubber and motors to make it seem real. Just marketing tricks.

it's the next step in consumerism. If you think about it tho, it's not that far of a leap from what they are doing with all the tiny little dogs for celebs and wannabes...

meh, doubt that'll really happen. What with all the liberal hippies protecting animal rights and the conservatives "protecting the sanctity of life," and blocking genetic research.
