Well. I just started Senior year in High School and I figured that now is a good time to start looking around for schools. Right now I'm taking 3 ap courses including AP Java, AP Economics, and AP Physics(which is my specialty) and plan on majoring in Aeronautical engineering. I'm looking for a school where there is a lot of hands on work and doesn't really force information down your throat. It definitely has to be fairly close to some major mountains since easy access to snowboarding spots is a must for me such as SLC or Lake Tahoe. I'm on the East Coast right now and am thinking about possibly going to Rensselaer in upstate NY but would definitely prefer a school out on the west coast, preferably around the Park City, Salt Lake City area. Any thoughts or recommendations as far as which schools I should look into?
What's up hans? I'm from NY too, and went to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Az. for two years out of high school to take Aeronautical Engineering. It's close to all kinds of skiing and boarding up in Flagstaff. It's also a road trip away from Cali. I thought that the tuition was kind of high (even higher now), but the education is pretty much as good as it gets. Alas, engineering, skiing, hiking, climbing and outdoorsy stuff just wasn't for me... so I transferred to the Daytona Beach campus and traded all that for aircraft mechanics and wet T-shirt contests at spring break.
If you find yourself visiting schools out west, maybe drop by the Prescott campus for a tour, or google the school on the internet. Good luck, and hope this helped.

I've looked at the Embry Riddle school but its high tuition is whats keeping me away. AZ isn't exactly my type of climate. I'd much rather go somewhere more up north then down South. I mean honestly NY is about as south as I'd like to go.
