Default Mexican flag Over upsidedown US flag

I dont know the story behind this or the meaning why they did this but it kinda ____ed me off. Any thoughts on this? I know ppl are going to diss mexicans here but try keep in mind that these ppl in this picture does not represent mexicans as a whole. I just want to know what the deal is with this because its very disrespectful and im not sure if its even legal to do this.

"The protesters put up the Mexican flag over the American flag flying upside down at Montebello High in California . (Leo Jarzomb/Staff photo)" quoted from a different forum

You gotta LOVE freedom of speech, that's what is great about this country we call the United States of America...
I don't agree with this but it's their opinion about an issue or problem...

Not offering an opinion on the matter, but it's probably a response to a recent news piece on Pahrump, NV, which passed a law prohibiting the flying of foreign flags....

I don't know how applicable this quote is to the flag situation, but I love the way he worded the statement. And it's true.

The US flag flown upside down is an official sign of a country in distress. Here is the relevant part of the US Code of Laws regarding how to fly the flag when in distress:

THE FLAG CODE
Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10
As amended by P.L. 344, 94th Congress
Approved July 7, 1976

176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

If you look at the current political climate, I think it is fully relevant to fly it upside down.

Our founding fathers would have been ashamed to see our flag flying after an event such as 9/11.

As for the students hoisting the Mexican flag over an upside down one, I can only think that they beleive that Mexico is correct and the US is somehow incorrect.

If they had JUST flown the upside down American flag, then I could support them.

I stuck the italian flag on my car.
BUT there is not ONE day that goes by in which I tell my friends back in Europe how great of an opportunity there is here and how grateful I am of having become a U.S. citizen.
Now I confidently say I have dual citizenship

So yes. Freedom of speech is one thing. Freedom of speech while putting down the country that took you in NO.

On that note. Italy took in a hell lot of Eastern Europeans. We never had a problem with them until they started raping Italian women

The flag flying in this picture was done in protest to laws being proposed to make it harder for people to come here illegally. Notice this was in front of a highschool and was ENDORSED by some nutter principal. I think INS should have shown up and started round up illegals at an event like this. I am not against immigrants. I just want people to come here legally and become americans, not hyphenated americans.

.ok let me say my input in this and please do not take it the wrong way. A lot of kids here in CA like rockin there heritage and background. A good example are Filipino kids. born and raised here in the US and have no clue about the Philippines. Or speak the language and know the history of their background. But there are names such as FOB (fresh off the boat) or Boaters. Now I was born and raised there so I can speak up for mine. But regarding this topic is the same exact thing. These kids have no clue what's going on in Mexico and they had to decide whether to stay here or go back, for damn sure they will stay here. I know I would because this country "The Great US Of A" has a great promising future for everyone AS LONG AS YOU WORK HARD AT IT. And about the flag, that is a slap in the face to all Americans. Please mods do not delete this post if you are a proud American.

I have no problem with people supporting their heritage as it is good to know where your roots are. I'm like 6th or 7th generation here and I'm proud of my Polish descent. It is one thing to fly a Polish flag at home (which I don't), but to go to a public place and fly it over the American flag, no. I think cops in full riot gear should have shown up there and practiced some good ol' fashioned riot control. If you are that proud of your heritage that you have to disgrace the USA, then leave and don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.

It really ____es me off when imigrants and guachos do this bull$hit. I live in Southern Arizona and in the neighborhood i live in, I am a minority. On a daily basis I see Sonora (mexico) license plates as mush as I see Arizona Plates. Why dont the dumba$$es who think its so bad over here go back to their piece of $hit country instead of coming over here taking our jobs, money, women, identities, health care, and most importantly our respect.
