[quote=Hix;3737863]Lol Chris I was getting a Springfield XD for Christmas. It's an awesome gun, just make sure you get the extended mags. The added grip makes the gun much more comfortable. The XD is a huge gun btw, you might want something a little less beef.

Sometimes you want a beefy gun like this Custom built 45 dbl stack ( 14+1) trigger job,18.5 lb recoil spring, compensator http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...m/PICT0047.jpg
It pays to be a gunsmith

^^ wow that is a sexy custom 1911

One of the best guns ever made. All companies make a version of it and there are some awesome mods out there. There has to be a reason it has been the king of the competition since WWII.

something intresting i noticed about the test...iv owned a 410 mossberg, most standard shootguns (excl slug gun) are a smooth bore and slugs for a smooth bore shotgun are rifled. so this guy shot a rifled slug out of a rifled barrel?

it makes sense that that gun isnt a very good "shot pistol"...not enough barrel to create the velocity needed.

.45/70 is nasty enough ( yep got 1 in the collection), got a 50 cal as well.

I'll stick with the ones for carry to ones I can get a quick second shot off with. My .45 or .357 ( a compensated snub nose )

A revolver is still best for carry. Miss fire and all that jazz are basically nill.

Would be awesome though to pop off a super size round in someones face. The .50 DEagle is too awkward to hold much less fire. I have never shot a govt. round weapon before... I didn't know of a good one to try. The range at George Bush rents out a bunch of killer weapons that I have yet to try.

Being a gunsmith ALL my pistols , revolvers , rifles , and shotguns are misfire/jam nil.

I'll look and see if I can get a pic up of my 200 meter pistols ( yes 200 meters with a hand gun)

^^ Lol Brock, it's been discussed. It is still one of the top 10 pistols made, for me personally it is between the Five-seveN and the XD. I can't afford the FN so i'm getting the XD It is sort of one of those best of all walks type of pistol. The bastard child of a 1911 and a Glock 19 EDIT: With a little baby butter being added by the SIG...

@Cory, the judge is retardedly huge; How can you carry one as a b/u? Or is it your main weapon, like having a .45-70, but cheaper. Should just get a cheap-o Colt .22 long rifle, hell you could get an AK for under 400 bucks.

Why limit yourself to a rifle? why not a good varmit pistol ? .204 Ruger maybe? .218 Bee( and improved versions) ,.217 Donaldson Wasp, 6mm anything, .223 , and on and on.....

What kind of varmits ? What Range ? Hilly area, Flat land , Heavy/light trees? Those can all effect it.

You looking for single shot? Semi-Auto ? Bolt ? many, many questions before you can decide to get many, many answers.

bolt action
bull barrel
graslands colorado plains
most shots will be less then 500 yards
coyote hunting is main use
i reload so auto loader out the question
pistols no limited range loss in advantages in a fast flat bullet
my 308 is great for long range coyote but blows them apart close range even with 110 grain v max bullets
prairie dogs will be a target to rabit also

Why not reload for auto loader? full length resize , use only brass fired in that one.I reload for auto loaders have no problems.

You pelt hunter or just shoot em?

My choice would be Remington 700 Varminter SF in .204 Ruger ( if I wanted a new one , or I would use a 6.5/257 87 gr that I already got)

And my long range pistols think they are rifles , .218 Bee in 10" barrel shoots faster, flatter more accurate than a .22 hornet rifle ( at least mine does) .357 Supermag 14" outshoots 30-06. Don't think that pistols are just short range weapons.
