So I work the overnight shift at a web hosting company. I basically make sure the internets still work overnight, and fix them when they break.




It's very boring. I'm very bored right now.



I've added several intelligent people on SL in the hopes of some late-night conversation... but nobody's really awake right now. So, I mainly just watch House and Top Gear and Mythbusters all night.

What do all the other career insomniacs do around here?

 

I sit here for 12 hours every night making sure all our client's backups and their servers stay up and running. Guess I really spend 90% of the night wasting time on the internet. Coffee has become my new friend.

 

We have a decent sized Monster fridge in our break room that's free for employees. I'm trying to regulate myself to two regular Monster's a night.

 

energy drinks are bad for you. do crack.

I'll be moved to third shift in a month or two I think. But no computer access. I work in a battery factory.

well actually, we make batteries for tons of cars, and pretty much any motor vehicle for that matter including military vehicles... but not Toyota. heh

 

that doesn't help us at all....

 

There are guys here that drink at least two of the mega-cans a day, which equates to about four regular cans in the span of eight hours.

I think crack would actually be healthier.

To be fair, it's because your species has literally driven me to search for alternative companionship that can't talk. Six years of dating has led me to believe that, at least in Missouri, the female population has something in their water.

 

i keep my sanity by staying on SL all 8 hours a day at work.
but the way things have been looking on here lately...
im starting to think i might be better off without it.
