Presidential Debate, Obama, Clinton, BUSH, cmon in!!
Mr. Heathen Brewing (sorry I don't know your real name) I am glad you are starting to see that I am not crazy (like some people think I am) for believing that Ron Paul is our country's only hope.
If I can get one person to see that Dr. No is such a great candidate and that person can try to help tell others that he is a very good man with great ambition and leadership then we can take the country back. I am in this for our futures not my own personal gain (what gain would I have anyway??...lol).

Politics and religion have a lot in common.
People say that they believe because pretending to believe is necessary to get the benefits of religion. They tell other people that they believe and they do believer-like things, like praying and reading holy books. But they dont do the things that a true believer would do, the things a true believer would have to do.
I am voting for noone. I can't stand any of the candidates. Hillary and obama are too liberal and don't have the experience. John McCain is a good mix of liberal and conservative, but is too crazy.
I am going to write in somebody or vote for a third party, sure its a wasted vote but i don't want to give it to one of the others.

I could go on about her lies regarding more relevant policies, but that is all public knowledge. For me, it comes down to one thing: war. Any candidate that supports keeping us in the Mid East 1 minute longer is a candidate that does NOT get my vote.
i dont understand how you can think that pulling out of iraq right now is a good idea. I am definately not pro war, but we already started it; pulling out now would just create havoc in the middle east. Talk to anyone who has actually fought in Iraq and they will all tell you that the US is years away from stabilizing Iraq to the point that we can pull out.

The US will NEVER stabilize the situation in Iraq, if we pull out at Friday or 10 years from Friday. They have been fighting amongst themselves for more than 5000 years, more than 10 times as long that we have been a country!
What people fail to understand is the cultural differences between the Mid East and America. Democracy will never work there unless we (continue to) shove it down their throats. We have no business being there at all, and Iraq will fall into chaos anyway. Chaos is as much of their culture as the Quran is.
But none of that matters anyway, since we have built dozens of permenant bases in Iraq. The US will never be out of there. It matters not what the candidates say.

No, the only wasted vote is the one you dont cast. Dont let anyone steer you away form 3rd or 5th party candidates!

The biggest problem is a foreign power occupies Iraq. Not only is it foreign, but it is from a predominantly christian country, and Iraqis are almost all muslims. Many muslims, if not most, see the US led invasion of Iraq as a modern version of the crusades. While to most westerners, especially Americans, the crusades are simply an episode in ancient history with no relevance to today, most Arabs feel quite differently. They see the foundation of Israel as an effort by the west to retake the holy land of Palestine using the jewish state as a proxy. The muslims see the jews expanding from their original mandate to occupy more and more of Palestine. The recent invasion of Lebanon confirms their perception of the advance of christianity/judaism into the Middle East.

Does it really have any relevance to the issues? The economy, the war, foreign policy....those are issues that MUST be addressed, but wear you put your hand during a song.....really now, who cares?
If you want to be technical, no one was correctly "worshipping" the flag since according to the flag code:
(b) Conduct During Playing.— During a rendition of the national anthem—
(1) when the flag is displayed—
(A) all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart; (B) men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and
(C) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note;
Yes is does really matter!! The issues you listed are very important but someone who doesn’t respect our flag which is the symbol of this country doesn’t deserve to even be considered for this office!! Even if you don’t do it exactly the way it is written it’s the thought that counts. The problem is this country is run by “politicians”. We need statesmen running this country again, people who genuinely care about the country and not people who want to be president to just for a power trip. These candidates will spend millions of dollars for a job that pays what $400,000 a year. Hillary is talking about heavy taxes for the rich, how much of her husband’s income for nothing (his life time salary for being president) is taxed? He charges more for one speech than most people on this forum make in a year and I doubt he pays much on the side of taxes. If they are so worried about helping the “poor” why doesn’t he give his speeches for free?

So in your opinion, both Hillary, Obama and our current president Bush, dont deserve to be in office, since both were disrespecting the flag. If it was a Republican instead of a Dem, this would never have been a big deal.

I understand the symbolism behind the flag, but it is just material. It does not represent this country. It is "We, the People" who make this country as great as it is. Unfortunatly, we have given up power and control to corporations who are married to politics.
What does the US currently stand for? Disdain for human rights, rampant sexism, controlled mass media, obsesion with national (in)security, religion-led government, corruption and fradulent elections. This is what the flag currently stands for.
At one time, The Founders asked themselves what they stood for. The simple answer is liberty. For those who fought the revolutionary war, the object for which they were prepared to lay down their lives and property was the liberty to continue to enjoy the life that they and their ancestors found in America. The founders understood that they needed to stand together to protect the rights and liberties that they found here or surely they would be destroyed separately.
The US is broken and in no way represents the principals in which this country was founded. The blame game will get us no where. It is We how must take the power back.

Message of strong national defense and strictly following the Constitution resonates with American servicemen and women
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – According to opensecrets.org, the top three contributors to Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul's campaign are from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force respectively.
"No matter how you measure it, Dr. Paul has the support of our nation's brave servicemen and women," said Kent Snyder, Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman. "His message of a strong national defense, and only going to war with a declaration of war – as mandated by the Constitution – resonates with those who risk their lives to defend that Constitution."
No branch of the military appears among the "top contributors" to GOP frontrunner John McCain's campaign.
Additionally, Ron Paul's military contributions are greater than those of all other current candidates – John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama –combined.
The "Top Contributors" figures can be found at OpenSecrets.Org.
For more information on military contributions to Dr. Paul's campaign, read this press release.

You are correct none of those 3 deserve to be the president. 99% of all politicians don’t deserve to be. I’m not a Bush fan he is an idiot but he was better than the alternative at the time. I don’t care who disrespects the flag they are wrong, republican, democrat or anyone. I know it is just material but it is a symbol of what our country stands for or should stand for. I agree big business and politics have clouded up the air but if the people still believe and stand behind what they believe we can change things.
