Are there any documented cases of a starfish being older than 5,000 years?

 

Wait a second, the earth isn't hollow?

Why does almost every major civilization (yes I know someone said that the egyptians didn't) have stories of major world wide floods?

I know I'm going to be mocked for this (this site is crazy weird though, you gotta check it out), but is any of this true? At least the parts that mention Egypt.

Not "every", just all of the civi's from the mid east. Me and Dave went round and round on this not too long ago. I was trying to make the point that there very well could have been a monster storm, somthing equivilant to a collasal nor'easter or hurrcane over the area wrecking havoc. In the eyes of someone from there at that time, a 60 - 100 foot rise in river water would be a monster flood and seem as tho the entire world was under water, and it is intirely plausible.

However, a 5 mile high flood is something else entirely.

Why do a lot of civilizations mention a catastrophic flood? Are you being serious? I don't know the number but in modern america with all of our technology we have floods on a (monthly?) basis. Is it that hard to believe that other cultures would not also have floods?

Look, the mother of all el nino's could have happened on the earth. And many of the cultures could have reported all the same thing MAJOR FLOOD, MILLIONS KILLED(which are actually all about in the same geographic location on the east coast of the mediterrean-red sea, so quit with the "worldwide catastrophe recognized all over the world")

but not 1/10th of the world's ice melted all at once, which if it did, would cause water to rise about 20 feet.

Look, I'm not disputing that a flood and multiple floods have happened in the past. Actually I'm quit sure many HUGE floods on this planet occured.

But for some 40 days the world did not even have it's water level rise even 2 feet in the last 5000 years.

 

"and many cultures" have a yeti or bigfoot or adbominable snowman, or 6 foot flying witches with red eyes.

"Many cultures" KNOW sacrificing a life makes rain, as everytime someone is sacrificed, surprise surprise, it rains sometime after.

Shoot many cultures even worship an almighty creator, but that doesn't mean it, or any other tall-tale are true, right?

again, that would be impossible with the type of atmosphere we have. But hey, we're not talking about reality anymore it seems.

 

I think we passed reality up a while back when it was explained that noah brought T-rexes with him on his ark.

i remember learning about these things in elementary and middle school. They are called trilobytes. Out of all the creatures that have ever lived on the earth, they have been some of the fastest evolving animals.

Their fossils can and have been found in every ocean in the world. And because they dwelled on the ocean floor, they have always been fossilized in rocks, which have been accurately dated hundreds of thousands of times.

With that science, an evolutionary index of this creature has been very well documented thru its stages of evolution. A new stage of this creature is found almost every year, so much so, that scientists have been able to identify at least 17,000 stages of this creature.

It is one of these best documented animals for evolution, and it can be seen over the 250 million years it was on this earth.

Unfortunately they have all disappeared. Just so happens they all disappeared roughly the same time sharks first appeared in the ocean 240 million years ago.

 

I think the nearest extant relative is the pillbug. (those little grey armadillo looking insects that roll into a ball when frightened)

I believe xdorkx gave a link to a website and I explored it a little more and came across this ridiculous assertion and after posting it here he affirmed that he does indeed believe it. I don't see how you could believe in the bible and not believe man and dinosaurs co-existed.

 

I didn't say man and dinosaurds did not co-exist. The bible does not specifically mention dinosaurs (other than a few references to giant animals, that may or not be dinosaurs).

Most likely, they died during the flood.

LOL... now it all makes sense... God told noah to take a few of every animal but he forgot about ALL of the dinosaurs in existence and that is how they went extinct.

Yep we have definitely left the realm of this reality.

 

What about all the extinct mammals that lived just a little more than 10,000 years ago, both big and small. we have 4 or 5 different species of horse, all smaller than what we have, and the clear evolution of going from 4 toes to 3 to 2 to 1 in them.

there are thousands of ancient non-dinosaur animals that god chose to wipe them out, cuz he didn't like them? (I'm assuming the answer is "I don't know why god does what he does", right?)
