There was another study like this too that I read a few years ago so I am fuzzy on the details but basically men are much more appearance driven in their seeking a mate where as women ar elooking for the primevil sustanence still-able to protect them, bring home food, etc.
It's translated somewhat through generations in that a man that brings in good money is somewhat transferable as it shows the ability to provide but a sickly or weak appearing man will have a much harder time even having money. This is also the genetic reason women find self-confidence (not arrogance) to be attrractive-it shows a can do attitude which translates into them not allowing hardships to defeat them.
Also a selfish acting man has less chance because the give the air that they won't provide-keeping it for themselves.

^Those are interesting and complex theories. I tend to think it's a little more simplistic. A woman married to a 'less attractive" man will be happy because he knows he's less attractive. That means he'll usually go the extra mile to keep her happy. Women love the attention and pampering. The man will be happy because he's married to an attractive woman...period. We aren't that deep.

ChelsDS has it the most correct. Prettier guys think that they're big pimpin and don't like getting tied down. And they're snooty. And they want everything done their way because apparently their Mommys made them feel like the most handsome, wonderful little boy in the world and they think that they DESERVE to be treated that way and demand it.
