ok got it.. but thats still inferior and inexpensive right?
i'd rather shoot with a plastic canon lens than a tamron lens
but if ur all about spending more for better glass as stated in a previous post then why wouldnt u go with the metal mount 50mm 1.4>?

just out of curiosity if indeed spending more means better pictures as YOU stated earlier? not to be a d slapper but shouldnt u practice what u preach?? oh godly professional one
there's a point where you're starting to buy lenses and you buy lenses simply because they're cheap and effective and its trial and error. I'm just passing along what i've gone through so you don't waste your money on lenses like i did.

I've shot with Tamron and Sigma, and their quality just isn't there. I actually have a couple Tamron lenses still that I replaced with better Canon glass. I read reviews and talked to tons of people about the Canon 50 1.8 before i bought it and it has received nothing but rave reviews. If you're trying to save money while getting good glass, the 50 1.8 II is that lens.

I really want to argue about some things you say, but then I agree with it as well as disagree to a certain extent.

I think it's dumb to say a pro won't use off brand because a lot of nikon folks use the sigma 10-20 for the UWA, and plenty of pro's do it too. That's just one example. Getting into super tele, there are some good alternates to L glass or High end Nikon glass. It's up to the photographer. Seriously, I see way more rubbish from L glass on all of these forums I'm a part of than i do see good pictures from mediocre lenses. So it really does depend on the person operating the camera, from what I've seen anyway.
yeah, people with L glass can produce garbage, but then again, thats not on the lens, but rather on the photographer. From my experience, I've seen very few professional photographers using off brands with the exception of wide angles and thats with a few Sigma wide angles, not Tamron...

Just a few. Nothing that a little editing couldn't fix.

Learn how to use the light meter tina! It's pretty simple and intuitive.

Wanna hear a bad review of the nifty?

IT'S PLASTIC. It's CHEAP. For $80 it's useable but If 50mm is one of your go to FL's obviously it's a waste of $80 to start out with it. Buy the 1.4 and if you don't like it, sell it for 90% of what you paid. Save more money that way.
