sounds just like the Nikon D40/40x/60.

not possible with at f4-f5.6 , low light, no flash and fast moving objects
which is why I want a wide aperture lens.

if you have some tips let me know, anything but kicking up the high iso. I dont really want the colored noise. I can remove the noise manually, which Ive had to do before, but would rather not as its a tedious process.

not sure if noise ninja is worth using however if it can be done in cs3 manually. might look into that program if it offers something that cant be done in cs2 with edge masking and suface blur.

 

dont you have a nifty 50?

and no wonder you're getting such bad noise...you're not exposing properly and trying to fix it with photoshop

 

nifty 50 is good for portraits when you can move around, not so much for stationary seating. :/

a telephoto with f2.8 would help a lot in regards to getting correct exposure in low light. f4-6 not so much.

 

Canon 50D ISO:1600, Exposure: 1/80, Aperture: f/2.8

its still a pretty decent photo for such a high ISO, low noise

 

um yeah i think that is more than acceptable.

abd idk what that is but DAMN it looks good.

so im upgrading to a d90 because i dont wanna pay extra for the AF-S to work on my d60.. so im going to use my tax return on lenses.. im thinkin a 50 1.8, 35-70 2.8, and a 55-200mm VR and i should be pretty set with lenses right?

 

thats plenty acceptable...

RnB....your issues are those with exposure, not high ISO

 

I used to shoot with a Canon 10d with NO problems of going to 1600. I could only start to even notice noise at 3200.
