Memory cards, a class 5 or 6 card would be great to make sure it can keep up when you use burst mode. Sandisk extreme III cards are great quality.

Lenses, you'll have to talk to a Nikon bum about that :p

Just playing around with my 28mm Ai lens. I'm loving this lens more and more. Having no metering is rough lol.

 

Is it necessary to get a filter?

 

No.

A quality one like Hoya or if you have money to spend get a Nikon. Cheap ones can actually hurt IQ.

 

What about tiffen?

 

Tiffen is pretty good too.

idk about for a D40 since it wont autofocus...maybe the nikon af-s 35 1.8...nothing wrong with having to manually focus but still lol

 

I did a quick Google search. B+W seems to be the best non-camera brand filter. Then the mid to upper level Hoya and Tiffen filters are about the same. You want the multi-coated ones.

Got some HID's today Sorry my car is dirty.. Haven't washed it in like a month.

 

Can't even see the HIDs from those pictures, lol. Look like 5k bulbs?

Ordered a 4gb Sandisk Extreme III, 52mm UV filter (for my 50mm), 58mm UV (for my 55-250mm), and a lens hood for my 55-250mm tonight.

 

^ where did you buy those items from and did you get a good deal?
