So what is the secret to sunrise/sunset pictures? I remember trying to get a sunrise a while back but the pics all came out really dark orange or something if I remember right.

i concur... AUTO FTL. just buy a point&shoot. Now you have an overgrown point and shoot that you can't fit in your pocket.
actually my favorite thing to do to people i can tell buy a huge expensive camera (because they can afford to) and don't how to use it is sound interested and ask to see it and ask what specific buttons do or what ISO they are shooting at and why... some responses are priceless. about 80% of time they have no idea what they are doing at all.
I keep my ISO at 100 unless I absolutely have to raise it up. And I also prefer not to use flash. I think natural lighting makes the best pics...although there is a time and place for your own lighting.
^ same here. if i can shoot at ISO100 i will.. only time i break that is concert photog at 1600.
