I have been discussing a lot with my photographer friend about the differences between nikon and canon. He said that in the pro world its all Canon, however for consumer level nikons are better because they're easier to use and a better value, but when you get into serious territory pros will use the Canons.
I was watching a tv show called in harms way and the journalist photographers out on the field were using canon 1d's.
