DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
Lighting is key. I took that maybe an hour ago while the sun was setting. The post processing I did really didn't change the photo much, just gave it that desaturated sepia tone. Oh and f/4 is a sweet spot with this lens.
Lol I've been using PS since they were on CS and now they're on CS4 and I still don't know half of what it can do. The way I look at it is, PS is just a tool to bring out a mood in a photo. First and most importantly you have to get the photo itself right, then use PS to complete it so to speak. I'm not really into manipulation unless I'm cloning something out or replacing a sky, etc.
Hope you don't mind, but I'm a visual person so I wanted to show you what I'm talking about. Your photo has good composition, but the colors are kind of punchy and the dog's face is in shadow. I also cloned out some things in the foreground.
is this the 35mm you're talking about?
Canon EF Wide-angle lens - 35 mm - F/2.0
How did you guys learn about Depth of Field, I'm reading up on it but having trouble simulating it inside. Outside is easier, but I don't get that pop that most photos have. For example the DOF on the dog above.
