DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
Usually in UWA's you want a larger depth of field anyways. The 2.8 would be nice for lowlight, but I don't think it would be amazingly useful. I would go with the 10-20mm also, for what it's worth. I had my hands on one for a week and it was a lot of fun to use.
Just bought the tokina 11-16 2.8! Will do a review on it. But I really don't see myself needing anything more than 11mm. Plus this lens is super sharp...even wide open.
i went thought this 600pg thread
it made me want a dslr!!! today being my bday and all i should rack up enough cash to buy a d40 kit at best buy i picked the d40 because it will fit my needs and the price is right. what are some must have things when first starting? i figured a bag but then my friend told me its a waste of money unless i have more lenses and actualy use the storage.
i would still get a bag because you're going need something to carry it in. Go to target/wallmart and get a bag...very cheap and fits just the body and kit lens a few other things here and there. i loved mine...now i have more gear so it is sadly gone.
i would say get a cleaning kit also.
lastly, and most important, learn. read the manual, play with the camera settings, do everything! once you have a hang of it, then you can worry about other lenses and crap like that.

15 second exposure... notice the clouds move but the stars don't. this is what happens when you fly against the rotation of the earth at close to same speed.
