DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
Unless you have a business I don't see a point in having a backup. The likelihood of your new body failing is very slim. The whole purpose of upgrading is so you won't have to use the old one anymore. Most of the people I know with backups just leave them sitting in a bag unused when they could have bought another lens with the sale of it.
Now a full frame and a crop body would make more sense when it comes to sports and other long distance photography.

D300s + mbd10 for $1200
D300s BNIB (won at event) for $1000
i hope any of these are real. Not sure i want full frame but if i can get it for $350 and it actually works i might try it out and then resell it for a D300s and a lens or 2.

Digital full frame didn't begin until the D700 and D3 series. The D1 and D2 series are the predecessors to the D3. They are in the same category, but digital full frame is recent technology (2005+).

Is that color effect just from playing with the curves? Would this basically be the same way to achieve cross processing in photoshop and lightroom? I ran into this guys photos on WFC and I really dig the PP.
