Guys, What would you say is the highest ISO that you would want to go on the D90 when shooting a wedding?

 

between 1600-2000. IMO

 

i wouldnt shoot higher than 1600 it gets hella noisy after that
i try to stay at 800 or lower but 1600 is pushing it at 3200 its just more grain than i can bare to look at.

Yeah, 3200 is pretty serious. The wedding I'm doing requested "no flash". So I'll be going all ISO and 24-70 2.8. I'll probably be at 2.8 the entire wedding lol

 

The grain only shows up if the light is really insufficient, mainly in shadows. If they have a lot of windows, you should be ok.



f/4 ISO1250 and still totally useable.

 

noise reduc in PS camera raw can make a WORLD of difference. not sure if you've tried it. i reduce noise on pretty much everything over iso2000 and it helps alot.

found a sigma 17-50mm f2.8 for $480 any one have experience with this lens? i think its a good buy but some other user input would be sweet

 

used one for Canon for a while. Great walk around/car show lens. I recently downgraded all of my equipment (and will continue to do so until I am satisfied) to only my 7D and 70-200. I can borrow lenses from friends if i need too. I am also selling my lighting equipment soon, stands and all. Be on the look out for a big photog sale thread from me.
