I was looking for a slightly used camera, and was having withdraws for a few months since my D80 went down. And since everyone in my area thinks that because they paid 800 or so for a camera, that even though its 5 years old, it's still worth that. If I was able to find a reasonably priced D90 with lens for around $400 (which honestly, seems like a good price for a used camera) I would have jumped on it! But what did I expect. People who buy a DSLR think that they are automatically a photographer. I'd consider my self a photography hobbyist with no formal training.

Nice photo, but that muffler is so distracting and takes away from the clean lines of a Skyline

You guys are making me want to move somewhere with a cool car scene. Hoping to get see some good stuff in NZ in a few months.

Shot a concert a few nights ago.. Ended up buying a 50mm 1.8D off my ex, so I got to test that out a bit.

^I like those. Very in the moment.

Atlanta's car scene is ok. It's pretty close knit compared to other places. From what I've seen NZ and AU are big on drag racing. Plus they get all the J-spec cars so I bet you'll see some cool stuff over there.

P.S. My D90 is for sale. Someone buy it.

Thanks, dude.

That's what I've noticed.
I'm definitely going to this to get some photographs. It's the weekend before school starts.

If there's a good turnout and I get some good stuff, I'd like to submit the shots for a feature somewhere. But we'll see. I have a lot to learn before my car photography is decent.

Looks like it could be a cool event with a lot of variety.

I sold my D90 today. As soon as I posted that yesterday I got an email from the buyer. Now I don't know what to get. The 85G is on sale right now, $100 rebate until the end of the month. I'd still like another zoom though. Or I could keep the cash and road trip to NY for spring break.

Man, that was fast. Took me forever to get a committed buyer for my d5100.
I love my 85. That said, I'd save for the New York trip instead. But that's just me.

Anyone have any experience with the 5D classic? I'm really thinking about dropping income tax funds on a new body and I want to go full frame with everyone else. Im jealous.

Improvements were made in the AF system and ISO capabilities when it was replaced by the 5D2. But it seems like the 5D does just fine with the older tech. It doesn't have video though.

If I picked up a 5Dc, it would be a second body to my 60D for video. But, I'm on the hunt. I decided I'm buying camera gear with taxes vs. automotive money pits. Looking for either a 5Dc or a 5D2.

And I left Nikon for the Dark side, remember. I'm here to stay! haha.

I'd say do it, but do you research on them first. I think they have mirror problem or something. Hit up POTN.

I haven't done much research on the 5D family, but I know that the 5Dii was a big improvement over the 5Dc. Unless you find a ridiculous deal on a 5Dc, I'd go for the mk2.

Spent part of my morning at the animal shelter in town with my friend who is a volunteer photographer for them. She does stuff for their website and advertising.
Anyway. Brought my D700 along and shot a bit. Still trying to learn about the different AF modes. I guess I should just bite the bullet and read the manual to figure out how it works.
