DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
^Correct.
Back to serious mode for a moment.
Stenger, did that guy end up breaking something? Looks like a gnarly fight.
Because there arent enough of my dumb pictures or flowers on this page:

Personally, I don't particularly like either sport. But the comparison isn't entirely valid. If a football player weren't wearing a full facial mask and somehow broke his nose from a stray elbow, I'm sure he'd return to the game later on (depending on how early in the game the injury was sustained, of course). Something like that won't have influence over performance in-game. Something as seemingly-minor as finger injury, depending on the severity and what position the individual plays, could easily put somebody out for a game or two. If a right-handed receiver, for example, were to sprain either his wrist or one of his fingers on his right hand, he'd be benched for a few games until it's entirely healed. A coach can't afford to have a receiver with a temporary handicap on the field. May cost him the game.
Same goes for hockey. If one of the players were to slip, fall, and catch himself and sprain the dominant wrist (with which most of the control of the hockey stick comes from), I wouldnt expect him to be played. If he were to take an elbow to the face, sure, he'd be back later to play and seek payback.
I feel that was fairly unbiased and logical. But feel free to suggest otherwise.
But back to the pictures.
Stenger, I dig the textures of the flower petals. Was that shot with the sigma 10-20?
And Metalcoffin, that eye is weird. Where's that at and why does it exist?
Speedy, that dog is awesome! I'm going to be late to the dog photo run. I bought a mini dachshund over the weekend and she wont sit still even for a minute to allow a photo..
Because I'm feeling argumentative and feisty from sitting in a classroom studying differential equations and biomechanics all day:

And yes, that was a sigma 10-20mm
That doesn't happen is often as it seems. But it does happen. When you're playing that physical of a game, and someone takes a cheap shot at a team mate, you stand up for them. Just always been part of the sport. And it gets the fans into the game.
MMA/Boxing is just beating someone up, for the sake of beating someone up. I can't stand either. But what I've always loved about hockey is, the players and how much they give back to youth hockey, and their communities.
But back on topic of photos...

I actually, turned this into a poster for my brother.
Well lets look at it this way: Football last how many hours on tv per game. The actual time spent Playing said game is only 7 minutes. There are more times showing the past (replays) than game play, and 30+ minutes of commercials. Where as in Hockey, if the clock is moving, the players in play are moving. And moving faster, hitting harder, and on ice with no where to go when they run out of room. Hockey will always be > other sports to me. I was just poking fun at how these football players are major wimps when you compare them too a truly physical sport like Hockey.
And yes, that was a sigma 10-20mm

That is a cool shot of the rink.
