ya when it comes to tuning to certain htz i leave that to my buddy. i dont understand htz and all of that very well, that is why i was asking just for my knowledge. sorry i wasn't trying to sound like i was insulting you or anything of that sort. and i apologize if i sounded that way :-/

 

competition cars are usually tuned higher which is also usually the resonant frequency of the vehicle. The tuning frequency that competitors generally use is around 60Hz, about double what my enclosure is tuned at.

The higher the frequency the easier it is to reproduce and less power it consumes to reproduce. A lower frequency is much harder to reproduce because it has longer pulses and requires more power so your amplifier works harder. You will never see anyone competing with a sub tuned at 20Hz which is inaudible and the lowest of the sound spectrum.
