Default Tracks Should be Open in Winter ( MD & all )

It seems to be that when it comes to the winter all tracks close down for reasons unknown. I think the best time to be driving your car is in the winter when its colder outside and therefore your car can perform a little better ( i guess it can apply to naturally aspirated cars and forced inductioned ones as well ) cause of that cold air.

So why are tracks closed in the winter when its colder and when people are on vacation to enjoy there car.

In general looking for a autocrossing track or a drag strip I can take my car too. Heck give me a free parking lot please. I just want to do some fun driving in a lot where i wont have trouble with the law.

Anyone know of anything?

Haha. Cold Oh come on. You can still drive perfectly fine in cold weather ( like 40 + weather ) if your skilled enough Its been cold ( but its also been good weather on occasions as well ) i give you that But I am talking about like december and January months. Not just events that begin at the end of january.

Thanks for the Link BTW Trials...

did you check Summit Point? Most tracks are there to make money from the spectators. I belive Summit Point is very driver oriented. Also check Beverun in PA.

i love driving, love auto-x, love racing....have a def. need for speed
but can you not wait a few months till the tracks open?? find an empty parking lot
and just have at it if u need to go around cone/circles that bad.
auto-x will begin again shortly in the area, like Trial said, alot of the events are at Ripken Stadium, very nice setup usually.

Yea I hear you. The only thing that sux is that I actually have time in the winter to do so since I am not at school and I am working so fund are too much of an issue as well. That was the main reason of my rant. But I hear you on the parking lot thing as well. I would do that If cops wouldnt really be a problem, but after getting my first speeding ticket in 6 years i wanna play low. lol.

Thanx

Peace.
