Road Trip Time!!!
Hey Tennessee, I'm taking a trip with the family at the end of July. I'll be staying 3 days in Memphis and after that, we're headed to The Great Smoky Mountains for 4 days. Finally, on the last day, we're driving to Nashville for a night before we head back up I-65, to Chicago.
What's there to do in these places, especially for us city people? I have a month and a half to plan this out, so come on, help us out. My family and I would appreciate it...thanks...
Btw, I won't be driving the Box but a rented Toyota Sienna...

Im not in TN, but close to it.
Ive been a couple times. If you go to Pigeon Forge, park your ride some were and just walk up and down the strip. Theres nice local stores were you can find anything. I dont know if they still have the shops were you could feed Bears or not, but should most def check that out, and maybe even check Dolly Wood or Dolly's water park out.

I'm not sure about Memphis because it is at the other end of the state, but the smoky mtns
have alot to do. Some os the best things are: Ripley's Aquarium, Dollywood Splash Country Water Park, alot of hiking, more outlet shops than your wallet can stand and a ton of gocart tracks/Put-put. When you go to the top of the mountain you can ride the skytram to the ski lodge and Ice skate (since you are from Chi-town this probably wont interest you). If I may make a suggestion, we love to stay at the apple valley comfort inn but there is a new hotel that I am not for sure is open yet but you can find it at www.theinnatchristmasplace.com.
Unless you have to go to Nashville I would suggest skipping it and coming to Chattanooga. It is alot prettier and we have tons to do. Rock City, Ruby Falls, Tennessee Aquarium, I-Max, Tandem Hanggliding, Olympic River rafting on the Ocoee River, ect......
I hoped this helped a little.
