Rofl, 400hp out of the stock engine. IF it were possible, you would need to run atleast 50 pounds of boost, plus some nitrous. Then shortly after it's first dyno run, the crank would split, atleast 3 of the 4 rods will shoot out the side of the block, the valves would all snap, the half shaft would def snap during the run, and that's just t\he beginning of the damage. But yeah, good luck. I'm sure your parents would be thrilled to see that you just put over $10,000 into a car that cost them $14,000, then see you do about $8,000 worth of damage to it.

here's some hope for you:

280 HP on the 1NZ

400 may be a bit too much, would need custom sleeves, rods, pistons, valves, crank, cam, pretty much everything but the block itself, if the valve head holds up and doesn't pop at the gasket.

Here's the somewhat easier route which uses pump gas:

350 Chevy V8 with a 383 stroker kit, 450 HP with a Ford rear end. Will still probably cost more than the base cost of the vehicle in parts and fabrication though. RWD xB makes me happy.

the only way this dream will happen is with ls400 motor with turbo and nos and what ever eles fast and furious drive you have.it still want fit in the xb that you dont have and o ya they travel down the road like a brick sails threw the air. so find a brick make it fast then by a xb and get good gas mileage and watch a movie. not hateing on you its good to dream but dream of something that can happen.

Trying to get any type of performance from one of the weakest engines on the market is about as pointless as putting 20's on an xB...lol

I could see it being a possibility with the Second Gen xB though. Still pointless in my book.
