Only you the cop and god have all the details of the incident. From what I read though you were in a School zone and that in it self tells me your chances are slim to beating the ticket. Your discretion may differ totaly from the cops discretion as to what is dring carelessly. In CT we use the term Reckless. You do have the right to contest any ticket. Just make sure you have something reasonable to say when you face the man. You yourself said you went around the corner pretty fast. Were their any students standing in the area?, any other markings or postings such as speed or slow for crosswalk ect around? Get your information straight before going to trial on this one it's going to be a tuff one to beat.

Default ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The National Click it or Ticket campaign is in effect so be sure to wear your seat belts at all times. In CT it's a $37.00 fine (no points).

if u mean by removing the reflector, it depends. truely yes but most of the time as long as u add a seperate reflector at another area. specially having the marker lamp on the fender.

an amber reflector is required on the front of all vehicles, visible from the side.

so clearing the corners is not legal. are mine? um... yep.

^^ why the question marks?

in nevada the cops let us off with limo tint because its so g'damn hot and sunny here...

in arizona they do the same thing...because they have teh same thing.

in nevada they pull over speeding cars, but if the car is super duper nice. like lambo or elise or tvr or anything such as. they ask to look around and normally let the cars go...

ive been in 5+ situations like that

-sigh.

jealousy yo.

Default CAI in VA

Hey ScionCop,

I just recently got my black '07 tC and I've been looking at doing some small upgrades. I've heard that going with the Injen cold air intake and exhaust are probably the best as far as inexpensive bolt-ons, but I noticed on the Injen website it states that the CAI for the '07 tC is for "Off Road Use Only - No CARB". What is the penalty in most states for having this? Is it something that I should seriously consider when making my decision, because from what I've heard, Injen is probably my best bet for cold air because it's inexpensive and is probably best for my car, and it doesn't seem to keep anyone else from getting them (at least not that I know of).

I also do know that these will make my engine a little louder, which of course is just another reason a cop can give for pulling me over (even though their excuse can be just that they were looking out for my safety, which I also understand). Which actually leads me to a funny story. A buddy of mine and I were driving along late one night after a party in his '81 Chevy Caprice (w/ police package), we got pulled over because he had a custom exhaust on his car and my buddy had a lot of police paraphenalia, so the officer thought we were impersonating cops (odd, I know, but my friend has wanted to be in law enforcement for as long as I can remember, which explains the next thing as well). I was driving, the officer detected alcohol, and we had both been drinking, pulled up our records, find out my buddy had a concealed weapons permit, so 2 more cops showed up and things just got even more fun as the night went on, but we were super cooperative and he ended up letting us go as long as we got a friend to pick us up, no warning or anything. And BTW, he did give us both a breathalyzer test before he left, but after he told us he wasn't going to arrest us and was just curious even if we were slightly above the legal limit, but I blew a .05 BAC and my buddy blew a .10. Good thing I was driving

Funny story. The only reason I can see why the cop tested both of you guys was to see if your buddy could drive in case you were over the limit. Under CT law (.0 you were under and he was over. Truth is that if you wanted to drive you couldve but your cooperation I bet was most appreciated since cops want to play it safe. It appears they really didnt go beyond the scope of their duty to bust ***** so that was good on their behalf.

As far as your vehicle goes. Check with your State DMV to see what the allowed decible levels for an exhaust is. Maybe your Injen mod comes with a tested decible meter count or Injen may have it on the internet. Try and get one that is under the legal limit. I noticed many Civic and Scions with moderated exhausts (purrs like a kitten) but are legal. If Injen claims a certain decibal level but then fails to pass inspection then return it and get another brand. Might have to pay more. Upon passing inspection get the paperwork and keep it in the glove box with your other papers in case you get pulled over. Cops and troopers have to obide by DMV sanctioned papers. Make sure your paper work sdtates the brand and serial number if available of your exhaust so they dont think you did a switch after inspection. I have run into that before and made people go back for inspection.

Sitting in a room with anywhere from 2 - 15 other people listening to someone talk for 6 hours. I have been to 3 of them and its alot better than having your license suspended, trust me.

Default Driving class

Even though my Captain, wife and friends are always yelling at me about my driving I haven't had to go to the re-education course....yet. So I'll have to defer to what AMP said. Appears to be a class room with lectures and so on. Hope I don't make it there. As a cop working midnights I have picked up the worst driving habbits. The going over peoples lawns really ticks my boss off. Oh well
