Incase anyone was wondering the vehicle code and sections are 27151(a)vc Mod Exaust
27156(b)vc Mod Smog

And yeah i knew when i purchased the parts that they were illegal. I just think its
F'ed up that there are A holes out there running around with no exaust on there rides at all. Or how about poor import racer out there with no exaust at all or how about those freaking harleys with those extremly annoyingly loud exaust pipes what the hell?!

Are you sure it wasn't his Yukon? That is his patrol car, or at least was. Think he is back on the Harley now, have to look.

If you meet me in person sometime ask me why Rosetti does what he does, you might just be a little more understanding.

And the law does say that any modification to your exhaust that makes it louder is illegal , and that any modification that would effect your smog or is not CARB approved is illegal on a smog controlled vehicle.

You knew the mod was illegal when you did it right? Don't blame the man for doing his job. At least he has 1 to enjoy.

fremont is better than before already..... since then, i've moved to Newark, i RARELY drives on the streets of fremont..... heh..... but Hayward is badd cuz last time i got pulled over (when I used to have my civic) and the cop kindly adviced me to un-mod my car so that i won't get mistaken for illegal street racing (since the illgeal street racing moves up to hayward area), i dun blame him.... hes jus doing his job..... but wid his attitude, i am more then happy to accept the ticket cuz i knew wats going on.... instead of being stereotyped as a illegal racer

27151(A) VC can be signed off if there is no state ref sticker on the back.

Most look at loud pipes on Harleys at a safety issue to help them get noticed.

Remember, attitude is everything, and most I know operate under "spirit of the law" vs. "letter of the law".

Officers don't right the tickets, drivers do. Unless of course its the Sideshow detail, and is a Zero Tolerance night.

If you don't believe me or want to arggue the fact, please PM me.

almost every night in sacramento might as well be a no tolerance night.

oh and frogbox the letter of the law says any exhaust mod that makes it louder is illegal. yet it also gets written off if it's under 95db(which is legal). so the actualy words of the law cancel one another out don't they?

go to court and hope he don show up. my dad's friends who are cops say if u schedule the court date on a saturday night, cops mos likely won't show.

Everytime anyone in my family has gotten pulled over, he tkes it to court and has some cops he knows call the officer who cited him and tell him not to show at court. All this cuz we give em free doughnuts and coffee at our am pm.

that doesnt work for any ticket. in sacramento county for a fact they set your court date around the officers schedule. and he doesnt even need to be there. especially on a fix it.

Court isn't held on the weekends in Alameda County, and only one or two days inthe evening.

But what happens if a cop doesn't eat donuts or drink coffee?

And why wouldn't a Police Officer show up in court? 2.5 hours of OT for 15-20 minutes of work testifying on the stand. 4 hours if its a day off.
