Default Rude Awakening...

11pm, while watching a DVD, I hear lot of sirens and fast cars and then a huge bang. It was really nothing out of the ordinary...being that we live in the city, we hear that kinda stuff every night. Finished up my movie and went to bed. thinking nothing of it...

3am, I wake up to a cop pounding on the door. Turns out our other car (civic) was smashed while parked. Some dude doing a drive-by in the Mission was chased around the city, and after running over a cop, he crashed right into our car...

...damn...

...**** happens, I guess

Yeah, my neighbor said that there were 15 cop cars. They trapped him on my street, then plowed into him and our car. All the police had there guns drawn and they proceeded to tackle him....It's amazing I didn't realize how close they were!

My batteries died out last night, so I couldn't get the whole mess with yellow "police line: do not cross" tape everywhere and the other 2 smashed cars, but this was just before towing it:

Yeah, we got full coverage. It's the hassle and inconvenience that really suck. Right now, I'm just hoping it's totalled (but doubt it), so we can a new xA or Yaris or something...hehehe

Sean, thanks for the help with the body shop, but I went with a shop closer by...

They're not done estimating the cost, but it sounds like it's not a total Oh well, no new car for us...bummer
