Are they okay in Cali, or is it a risk to do them?

The mods I've done don't get me hassled by the police, but are there things that will? Any personal stories?

i've seen someone get pulled over coming right off the highway because of smoked tails.

 

I got pulled over for my windows being tinted, as well as my tails being tinted. I only got a fix it ticket for my windows though.

 

Dumb ___ cops have nothing better to do them pull people over for crap. We pay for them to do this type of useless work. I feel bad for the cars that are riced out, they get it the most.

 

I've been hassled for mine, although he didn't write them up, so they are still smoked. I did pull the smoke off of the headlights after that, tho. And the last time I got stopped, the cop mentioned the plastic cover over the plate was illegal, but didn't say anything about the tails...
