The best of the best. You didn't specify anything about price .

I havn't looked at video cameras in a while, but if I was going to buy one, I'd look at the ones with a hard drive vs. mini disk or tapes. JVC and Sony both make quality stuff, check them out. Go to Circuit City or Best Buy and play with them, ask questions there, see what they have to say. You can spend a little or you can spend alot, the skys the limit, good luck.

Well I think the real questions are:
1) What are you using the videos for? Is it just to post on YouTube or are you looking at something that can be used to make promo materials for the dealership (like promo DVDs or commercial clips).?
2) What is your optimal budget? There are some great options in the consumer & prosumer markets.
3) Do you have any specific needs? Firewire port? Lightweight? External peripherals (sound, lighting, etc)?

Sorry I guess I need to narrow it down a little more.
Needs:
film training
film events
has a good microphone
Budget is the hard part. Under $1000 for sure. Most likely $200-300 but I am hoping to upsell him. haha

Hey I didn't check how much these cost, but my friend advised me to give you these camera choices:
They are all Cannon, he says that that is one of the best brands.
-GL2
-XL2
-XL1S
Hope that helps.

My friend said that it is VERY hard to find a camera of good quality that will suit your uses that is under $400. But he advices that when you do tape, you should use a camera that records on a "Minidv" tape. He also says that your best bet is to stick with Cannon or Panasonic; stay away from Song and JVC.
