Default Places to get cheap alignment (Portland)

Hey guys.

On Wednesday, I'm about to go to America's Tire Co. and get some Nitto NeoGens put on. My stock tires are getting enough abuse already. 40,000 miles and several cuts and slashes along the sidewall. I feel like I'm losing traction and slipping a lot, so I figured it's time for new tires. I rather replace it now rather than finding out the hard way when I go and lose control around a corner or in the rain. Besides, I measured the tread and it's down to 2/32".

Anyways, America's Tire Co. doesn't do alignments, so what are some cheap, but good places to take my car to get an alignment? (Approximate prices if you can.)

Thanks a lot guys.

Portland area preferrably.

Quality matters-there are 2 les schwabs I trust (the other ones I have hated mostly)

1) There is one on boones ferry in lake oswego-talk to Jake or Ken-I have always had good work done and their alignment guy is this crack up older German? guy who does a really good job ($35 I think)-they also got my steering wheel exactly straight (never had that happen before)-you can tell them Bill with the scion/vw cabrio sent you (I have gotten to know them pretty well)

2) the les schwab on barbour blvd in tigard (by the fred meyers-kind of across from the tigard cinemas) I just got some used tires there and was super impresssed by their service (didn't get an alignment though)

DO NOT go to the one on walker and 170th or the one at washington square. Can't explain it all but I would never get any work done at either one.

They also have great deals on used tires when they have them too.

Yeah, no problem. There might be some other good ones I just know about those 4.

Check the price though-they will quote you for 2 or 4 wheel alignments but ours are only 2

I know you are looking at price but I strongly recommend HM-Motorsports in Beaverton. Make sure Eli does the work and you will not regret it. Gets it done in the best possible way, or tell him what you are looking for and based on what you want he can adjust it the correct way for each car. Not to mention they have the most advanced Alignment System in the area.

Also, if you're trying to save a buck or two in tire mounting (most places charge 80-100) pull Eli aside while you are there and typically he will do it on the side for about 30-40 depending on tire size if you tell him that Nate sent you.

If you plan on keeping the vehicle Firestone is the way to go. You can go back every week for an alignment if you want to and they will do it for free. The initial cost is high, but if you go back three times it will pay for itself.

As for how long an Alignment lasts it all depends, if you hit a curb or pot hole it can throw it off. I have had times where they only lasted a week. Other times you can go years without needing one. It all depends.

Good info in here. I still need to get an alignment on the Yaris. However, I need to decide where I want the ride height on the coilovers before doing so.

Yah go get a lifetime alignment at firestone. They last the lifetime you own the car. Or someone in the household does. As mentioned you can get it aligned everyweek if you wanted to. You could go get it aligned every 30 min if you wanted to! (The flat rate tech would love you fyi) but its an amazing deal, and if you say come up to seattle for a M&G or something, and on your way hit a pothole. You can get you car aligned at ANY firestone. (Some stores can't do extremly lowered cars or extended bed pickups) but its an amazing deal...... .... .... if I didn't work at firestone I would get one for sure. haha.
