Hell yeah. If only for the fact that I can walk upto girls and say lines like "My car's been track tested" or "Yup...those were the good ol days, me and my car on the track..." or even "Oh yeah, when I'm on the track with my car I feel so free and liberated.." or other stupid oneliners I have yet to come up with.
Let's just hope they're not saavy enough to understand what all that stuff under the hood does. You know, kinda like me.

Scion lapping day with a bunch of tCs would be kewl.
However, if your trying to organizes a track day with just Scion owners it's going to be expensive. You will need a minimum of 30 cars @ 200.00 to pay for the track, insurance and medical unit to be onsite. Plus, your going to need assistance running the event.
Pacific Raceways is generally filled up for track time. So, getting a dedicated day is tough with a novice group of drivers that either have never done a track day before.
If you want to track with other clubs you will have to be a member. Suchs as Alfa, BMW or Porsche Club.
You will also have to have completed a driving school clinic with any of those groups or Proformance.
Proformance charges 500.00 for the car control clinic. BMW, not sure of the price but it's basically the same since the instructors are generally the same.
A track day will run 165.00-250.00 depending on who puts on the event. Plus, your going to need a helmet.
Since 2005 I have 45+ track days in. Plus, I have my IRDC Racing License and will have my SCCA Racing License in the spring. My wife already has her SCCA National License as we run our '95 BMW M3 in SCCA and Conference Racing.
Let me know if you need anymore info as I know several people that run HPDE Lapping Events in the area.

WOW WXMotorSports that is Awesome!!!
The m3 is a nice car.
I spoke to Erik (DownhillSpec) the other day and basically he was looking to gage interest to see if we can come up with 15-20 people and split the cost for the class. I believe he said the class was $500/20people would be about $25 a person. I think there are open track days and events that we could attend together with other clubs sounds like you would know more about this since you have been doing it. Many of us just want to get out there and try this out to see if it is for us.
WXMotorSportsv do you have any suggestions for those of us who are new and just starting out?

If the club can get enough people to do a Car Control Clinic driving school this would be the best for the novice that has no seat time on the track.
The price you mentioned doesn't seem right at all or it's one great deal.
Proformance charges 500.00 per person for a full day for their car clinic.
Half the day instructors put you though car control exercise that really do improve your daily driving.
Then the 2nd half of the day your doing laps around the track with an instructor showing you the line and how to brake, hand position and "High Eyes" on the track which in turn help you on the roads you daily drive.
It's also a great feeler if you want to attend a HPDE lapping day in the future or not.
Here are a couple of links to what a car control clinic is...

Taking their Advanced "Street Survival Driving Skills" course allows you to track with any of the local car clubs. Plus, a lot of the instructors also teach with other clubs.

This will give you an outline of what the clinic is all about.

Also, keep in mind if you do get into this the risk are high. As I much time I have in the seat I've seen some really bad collisions mostly driver error. I've also avoided collisions on the track just by being aware of what is going on and using what instructors teach you.
Also, keep in mind your car insurance doesn't cover your car if anything happens to you on the track. Someone hits you or you hit something the cost of repairs are coming out of your pocket. Just last week a guy put his Mazdaspeed 3 into the tire barrier at 120+ cartwheeled the car and it's now totalled. No cage in the car and stock seat belts. He is one lucky guy to be around right now.
If anyone wants anymore information I'd be willing to run a g2g at my shop to go over all of this. I know my friends on Ford Focus forums would attend too as they are getting into it as well and they are also posting the same questions and concerns on their forum.
BTW...if you do get into this and your a street racer it basically cures that need to race on the street...LOL

IRDC charges 275.00 for a two day course. 1 day 5PM-7PM is a class room study on what to expect and flag review. Next day your on the track. Clinic is in April. Not much going on the track right now with the weather. In fact we are having to go to Phoenix to do our SCCA National racing. The season here is their off season because it's too hot.
