I think that crushing them is STUPID, but it teaches the owners and alot of other racers a lesson.

i'm saying pull out the stolen parts, give it to some automotive school and they have a perfect car to learn how to install a tranny, engine, interior, electronics etc. and once it is complete, they can sell or donate it to a low-income family or something. what good is a crushed car?

Recycling money; it goes back to law enforcement and helps keep our taxes from increasing, Those crushed cars probably yielded enough scrap to offset maintenance and/or replacement costs for the local PD. As for donating the cars to schools, that's a non-issues considering most schools I know take on student or teacher cars as projects.
